Divisional Sales Manager 

A divisional sales manager is a leadership position within a sales organization, responsible for overseeing and directing the sales activities of a specific division or region. They manage a team of sales representatives, develop and implement sales strategies, and work to achieve sales targets and revenue goals for their designated area. 

In essence, a divisional sales manager is a key player in driving sales growth and profitability for their designated area, providing leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to their sales team.

We are currently searching for an experienced Divisional Sales Manager to oversee So. California and Texas marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Divisional sales managers recruit, train, and motivate sales teams, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their individual and team objectives. 

Core Competencies

  • Developing and Implementing Sales Strategies: They analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and create effective sales strategies to maximize revenue and market share within their division. 
  • Setting and Achieving Sales Targets: Divisional sales managers are accountable for meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals for their division, often working with sales directors to establish these targets. 
  • Monitoring and Analyzing Sales Performance: They track sales data, analyze performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement, making adjustments to strategies as needed.
  • Building and Maintaining Relationships: Divisional sales managers build and maintain relationships with key accounts to foster growth and collaboration. 
  • Budget Management: They manage the sales budget for their division, ensuring responsible spending and resource allocation. 
  • Reporting and Communication: They provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and other relevant information to senior management.
  • Collaboration: Divisional sales managers often collaborate with other departments, to ensure a cohesive and effective sales approach. 

Leading and Managing Sales Teams

  • Sign new dealerships, growing the application count with existing dealerships and capturing approved contracts.
  • Review deals with your dealer partners and help them to structure or restructure deals as needed to fit our programs.
  • Build and maintain dealer relationships and follow up on approved Loan Applications.
  • Generate and pursue sales leads as well as new dealership relationships using cold calling techniques, business directories, referrals, onsite field visits, etc.
  • Meet or exceed established sales quotas while maintaining accepted delinquency/loss levels on the portfolio.
  • Partner with the internal underwriting department, when necessary, to maximize sales and deal flow.
  • Educate dealerships on the expected applicant standards such as credit quality, residence/employment stability, etc. and ensure all stipulations are submitted.
  • Train dealers use company dealer portals, finance products, documentation, and any other services and products required by the lender.
  • Attend meetings, sales events, and training seminars to keep abreast of the latest industry developments.
  • Significant travel required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the auto lending industry and/or finance experience in the automotive sales industry. Subprime experience is preferred.
  • Auto Lending Underwriting.
  • Auto finance, external sales roles, Independent/Franchise dealership experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in a challenging sales role preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Significant daily travel approx. 75%.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.
  • Must have auto insurance.
  • Must have dependable vehicle.
  • Be able to lift 15 lbs. (laptops and other accessories).
