Location: Melbourne preferred (remote possible)
Type: Part-time (3 days/week, including Saturdays)
The Role
We’re looking for a capable and motivated developer to join our team part-time. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring and triaging system issues, as well as handling regular BAU development tasks. You’ll also help improve our trading processes and data pipelines.
An interest in sports analytics is beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve trading processes, data pipelines, and analytics platforms for speed and reliability.
- Build and update software tools for sports data processing, visualisation, and predictive modelling.
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and escalate when necessary.
- Work on projects involving APIs and advanced data workflows.
- Contribute to collaborative workflows, including code reviews, brainstorming, and agile sprints and ad-hoc tasks to support senior developers.
Skills & Experience
Must-have:
- Currently studying a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Generalist programming skills with proficiency in Python.
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Some relevant experience - through internships, projects, or hobby work.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to other languages such as C#, Rust, or Go (no need to be a specialist - versatility is valued).
- Exposure to cloud services (Azure).
- Familiarity with Databricks.
