Role Overview
Subject Matter Expert (SME) within a team responsible for ensuring client assets are securely held at custody and that the entitlements on these assets (title, income, voting) are protected for the client at all times and to ensure the availability of accurate fund positions for fund management decision making purposes and for fund valuation/pricing/accounting
Key Accountabilities
1. Act as SME within a team responsible for processing security and FX trades, cash, corporate actions, data feed processing, income and expenses and reconciliations and on a daily basis and ensuring daily cash flow obligations are met without loss or penalty within all compliance/regulatory requirements.
2. Solve complex problems based on specialist in-depth knowledge and/or breadth of expertise.
3. Train in new members of staff, then coach/mentor/develop staff to effectively pass on the subject matter expertise to new staff as they rotate through the teams.
4. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clients receive a high standard of service.
5. Lead the operational excellence agenda and introduce automation ideas, providing support to the management team to ensure the continued development and enhancement of services provided.
6. Take a lead role in delivering and co-ordinating specific or related tasks within the team, keeping all plans on track and achieving objectives on time, whilst taking a lead proactive role in achieving overall team objectives. Ensure regulatory reporting obligations are carried out within the stipulated timeframe.

If you have budgetary responsibilities monitor and manage local expenditure to ensure value for money is achieved and that budgets are managed responsibly.
Criteria For Role
• Ability to work on their own initiative whilst working as part of a larger team.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, working under pressure to meet challenging deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills required to interact with clients and global financial institutions.
• Proactive approach to identifying, understanding and mitigating risks, understanding processes and solving problems.
• Advanced knowledge of concepts, theories and practices within the asset servicing & funds industry, typically gained through advanced education and industry experience.
• A third level degree ideally in a relevant discipline is desirable.

• Excellent communication skills specifically regarding reports and written communciations.
• Highly numerate with good IT capabilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and work consistently to a high standard when under pressure while managing deadlines.
