Description
This position works with the Director of Development and Communications to implement, track, and report on all aspects of strategic outreach to individual donors, corporations, and foundations, including prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Development Coordinator organizes, records, processes, and acknowledges gifts in the donor database and prepares fundraising reports to ensure development goals are met.
This position is hybrid, with 2-3 days required in office each week.
The budgeted range for this position is: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, DOE.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Database Management
· Enters donations, in-kind donations, volunteer, and contact information in Bloomerang donor database
· Processes Thank You letters to all donors
· Generates regular reports on individual, corporate, and foundational giving from Bloomerang database
· Responds to staff requests for data from Bloomerang database to support events, donation drives, and other activities
Donor Experience
· Ensures personalized acknowledgement and donor communications
· Regularly refreshes communications and copy to online donor acknowledgement, thank-you letters, acknowledgement processing, etc.
· Manages and regularly refreshes donor-facing materials and copy: thank-you letters, support webpage, online donor experience, donation flyers, etc.
· Helps manage community-facing events including, but not limited Women’s Advocates annual October fundraiser and Break the Cycle event
Development and Fundraising Support
· Oversees development email account
· Manages in-kind donation program including fielding requests, partnering with departments to assess need, advertising/promoting when needed and tracking
· Helps prepare and send mailed appeals
· Researches, develops, and maintains list of new philanthropic prospects, including local businesses, faith-based organizations, corporations, and individuals
· Sponsorship recruitment and relationship building of corporations, local businesses, and community-centric partnerships (annual minimum goal of $40,000)
· Manages and oversees 2-3 smaller annual fund campaigns throughout the year (monthly givers expansion, specific shelter needs, etc.)
· Provides Grant Coordination Support
o Works with Grant Manager to track submission deadlines
o Supports Grant Manager in keeping submission calendar up to date
o Uses Grantseeker to correctly input submissions, deadlines, award details, etc.
o Reviews Grant proposals as requested
Other duties as assigned to support Development & Communications department
Requirements
· 2 years of experience in nonprofits, social services, marketing, fundraising, or community relations, or equivalent educational/practical experience
· Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
· Demonstrated experience with managing donor database. Experience in eTapestry highly preferred.
· Knowledge of domestic violence, women/gender studies, and related current events useful
· Demonstrated excellence using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Strong organization and time management skills
· Ability to effectively manage timelines and meet deadlines
· Ability to work collaboratively across departments and leadership levels.
· Ability to prioritize, handle a variety of tasks and be self-directed, while being responsive to changes as they come up.
· Demonstrated experience with or commitment to intercultural development and anti-racism work in the workplace.
· Commitment to actively contributing to the organization being a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
· Physically ambulatory and able to negotiate multiple stairways.
· Computer literacy (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
· Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
· Background check required for this position
· Valid driver’s license, current insurance and reliable transportation.
