Job Title: Program Assistant

Department: Resource Center

Reports To: Sr. Director Young Adult Engagement & Opportunities

 

SUMMARY 

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Program Assistant to join our team at Monroe Harding’s resource center serving young adults aged 16-26. This entry-level role is a great fit for someone with lived experience and a passion for learning while helping youth succeed in areas such as education, workforce development, financial literacy, healthy relationships, and justice-involved youth programming. The Program Assistant will support all program activities and assist with data collection, including client intakes and follow-ups, ensuring accurate information is recorded in our data system.

Location: Monroe Harding’s Resource Center, 523 Church Street, Nashville, TN 37219
Schedule: Full-Time, In-Person, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  • Assist in the delivery of programs focused on education, financial literacy, healthy relationships, workforce development, and justice-involved youth.
  • Assist with Monroe Harding’s social enterprise Monroe Gardens
  • Conduct intakes with clients, gathering necessary information and maintaining accurate records.
  • Reach out to clients to collect required information for various forms and update the data system.
  • Provide administrative support for day-to-day program operations, such as organizing resources and setting up activities.
  • Help coordinate workshops, events, and meetings related to the center's programming.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities, with a focus on continuous learning
  • Connect service recipients with agencies, programs, and service providers whose areas of focus are most congruent with the clients’ unique strengths, needs, and goals
  • Utilize trauma-specific treatment approaches. Be culturally sensitive and ensure that all the participant's interactions with MH are healing, positive, and non-triggering.
  • Co-facilitate group classes/activities, as well as in provide one-on-one support to program participants
  • Enter client activity in various databases
  • Assist clients with resumes, interview skills, job searches and applications 
  • Be a part of a team, assisting other staff with programs and classes as needed.
  • Recruit young adult participants, assist with intake, and goal setting
  • Serve as an advocate and voice for the clients
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Lived experience related to Foster Care and/or Juvenile Justice.

Eager to learn new things and develop skills across multiple areas of programming.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic proficiency in data entry and familiarity with using computers for administrative tasks.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work independently as well as collaboratively.

Passion for working with young adults and supporting their growth.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Lived experience related to Foster Care and/or Juvenile Justice.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Tennessee driver's license.
