Description: This District Sales Manager position is responsible for meeting and exceeding sales and profit targets within the territory of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Louisiana.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Call on and manage all existing and new customers in the assigned territory
- Work to seat Behlen Country products within all applicable customer sales channels.
- Assist product end users with any issue they may have with Behlen Country products
- Develop customer and territory specific product promotions that drive sales growth
- Deliver revenue and profit growth targets for the territory
- Develop and execute a revenue and profit growth strategy for the territory
- Know the competition
- Develop extensive knowledge of the complete Behlen Country product line
- Coordinate and participate in selected customer buying shows and trade shows
- Represent Behlen Country with integrity, honesty, and industry leading customer service
- Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and new product development.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience selling into the farm/ranch retail or distributor space
- Strong aggressive sales and customer service skills
- Agricultural background with knowledge of livestock and livestock equipment
- A competitive spirit and sense of urgency to impact the bottom-line performance
- Four Year College degree in a related field
- Ability to learn the entire Behlen Country product line
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Business and Financial acumen
- Travel approximately 70% of the time
- Basic computer skills. Ability to utilize email, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and a Customer Relationship Management System
- Ability to work, communicate, and exchange ideas with other teams and leaders
