Nonprofit Resilience Facilitator - Temporary Independent Contractor

Location: Central West Florida - Covering 10 Counties (Hybrid - In person & Field-Bases)

Capacity Path Relief, Inc. is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping communities recover from the emotional and social impacts after disasters. With a crisis-informed, resilience-based approach, we support survivors, first responders, local agencies, and community organizations through direct services, training, and coordinated outreach. Our current focus is on recovery and long-term resilience efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. *Note Capacity Path Relief is a 501c3 Nonprofit corporation that operates in collaboration with our Response Teams for Capacity Path LLC.

Who We’re Looking For & Contract Overview

We are engaging skilled and compassionate Independent Contractors to serve on our Hurricane Helene & Milton Recovery Resilience Program. Contractors will provide specialized, project-based services such as crisis care, nervous system regulation training, and neurobiologically informed wellness support to impacted populations.

Engagements are deliverable-focused and will be coordinated based on contractor availability and program needs during the contract term. Contractors will determine the manner, method, and timing of how services are performed, consistent with agreed deliverables.

We are engaging contractors with experience in:

  • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Professionals (LMHC, LMFT, Psychologists)
  • Social Workers (LCSW, MSW, Registered Interns)
  • Health & Wellness Coaches (Board-Certified preferred)
  • Peer Support or Life Coaches
  • Functional Medicine & Wellness Practitioners
  • Sports, Fitness, or Performance Psychologists
  • Medical Professionals
  • Public Health Administrators
  • Emergency Management Personnel
  • Public Safety / Public Service Professionals
  • NIMS/ICS-Trained Responders

Scope of Work (Deliverables)

  • Deliver resilience training sessions, workshops, or wellness events to survivors, responders, and recovery workers across 10 counties in Florida.
  • Provide crisis-informed education on resilience, self-regulation, and recovery strategies.
  • Support individuals and organizations with emotional wellness, crisis care, and stress reduction techniques.
  • Document services provided and collect feedback for reporting.
  • Collaborate with the RTT, program leadership, and community partners with program objectives.
  • Arrange and provide their own transportation, supplies, and tools for event delivery.
  • Set up and break down at events, and inventory tracking. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Professional experience in crisis care, resilience training, or recovery support.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • If licensed or certified, current documentation of credentials.
  • Not a remote position – in-person travel required. Personal transportation required.
  • Availability alignment- Majority of events occur Tuesday – Thursday, with occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Travel to Base office location in St. Petersburg, FL where we will meet for field coordination.
  • For overnight events further in distance, travel and lodging arranged or reimbursed as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • Service in high-stress or sensitive environments.
  • Familiarity with Long-Term Recovery Groups (LTRGs) or community-based recovery.
  • Public speaking, group facilitation, or trauma-informed education experience.

Contract Terms

Contract Terms

  • Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Compensation: Hourly or per-event rate based on credentials and scope ($30-40/hour or flat per-event rate).
  • Estimated Timeframe: August 2025 – January 2026, with flexible scheduling based on mutual agreement and project needs.
  • Location: Primarily in-person at event sites; remote preparation and coordination as needed.
  • Travel: Contractors may accept or decline assignments requiring travel. Lodging and mileage reimbursement available per contract terms for agreed out-of-area engagements.
  • Flexible scheduling: Submit your availability for events as scheduled (gig-scheduling), may work up to two full days per week
