About the Department

This position will lead risk management operations to identify, assess and mitigate risks to enhance the College’s risk resilience and adaptability. The Business Risk Services manager will also oversee the procurement, renewal and management of all College insurance programs, while promoting risk awareness and accountability throughout the College.

Position Duties

*Identifies, develops and implements strategies to reduce or eliminate operational, financial, compliance, safety, legal and reputational risks throughout the College.

*Oversees comprehensive management of all College insurance portfolios including general liability, directors and officers, property and casualty, crime, automotive, cyber liability, law enforcement, flood, student accident, and student professional liability coverage. Responsibilities include processing premium invoices, coordinating claim management, conducting policy audits, property valuations and ensuring compliance with coverage requirements.

*Leads risk assessment reviews of institutional agreements, memoranda of understanding, and vendor contracts in coordination with external counsel. Manages approval workflows, secures required signatures, and maintains comprehensive agreement repositories in accordance with institutional records retention policies.

*Plans, organizes, and administers a College-wide risk control program to identify and analyze potential exposure to loss; develops related goals and other program performance expectations. Develops, implements, and monitors related work plans and mitigation strategies to achieve goals and performance measures.

*Accumulates and analyzes data to develop comprehensive reports related to the risk management program for loss trends, heat maps, CAT Modeling and total cost of risks. Manages the total costs of risks and makes appropriate changes and mitigation recommendations to strengthen the decision-making capabilities and efficiency of College leadership

Serves as the primary coordinator for all broker(s), underwriters, claim handlers, investigative reviews and other insurance related services. This includes playing a lead active role in critical incident and cyber breach response.

Provides technical consultation to ensure third party and College issued certificates of insurance comply with contract standards confirming insurance provisions are in line with College and insurance requirements, provides support and education to faculty and staff in insurance provisions and application of insurance coverage

Administers motor vehicle record monitoring programs to ensure employee compliance with insurance requirements and institutional driving standards. Maintains oversight of risk mitigation strategies related to college vehicle operations.

Maintains comprehensive records of institutional property, vehicle inventory, and specialized equipment requiring inland marine coverage. Coordinates carrier site inspections and property valuations to ensure adequate coverage levels. Conducts regular risk assessment audits of college facilities, operations, and assets. Oversees third-party safety inspections and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Participates in institutional disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts, ensuring insurance considerations are integrated into emergency preparedness strategies and operational resilience planning.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to collaborate and act as a facilitator with various college stake holders
 
Demonstrates critical skills in workflow process, scheduling, and project management
  
Skill in analyzing data, processes and drawing conclusions that lead to actionable recommendations
  
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and activities seamlessly within a fast paced setting
 
Intermediate skills with MS Office products

Excellent customer service skills
 
Knowledge of insurance principles and coverages
 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree

Five years of experience or equivalent 
 

Preferences:

Master’s in Business or related

Possess an Associate Risk Manager, Certified Risk Manager, or similar designation
