About the Department
Individuals in this position are responsible for planning and presenting a variety of group fitness classes. The individual in this position will be responsible for providing a safe, effective, and appropriate group fitness experience for guests at varying levels of fitness. These classes include strength, cardio, circuit training, Pilates, cycling, core and stretching. Individuals are also responsible for general cleanliness of the studio space, ensuring equipment is properly stored, providing a safe exercise environment, and maintaining current instructional certifications. Attendance at regular staff meetings is required.
Individuals with a Primary Group Exercise Instructor certification are eligible to teach a variety of group exercise classes. However, individuals with a 100-hour Pilates certification are eligible to teach Pilates.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to create and instruct a safe and appropriate fitness class.
- Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required within 60 days of hire.
- Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
- One or more of the following current certifications (applicants must attach certification with online application):
- Primary Group Fitness Instructor Certification from ACE, AFAA or ACSM.
- 100 hour Pilates certification.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience in a fitness environment desired.
- One (1) or more additional certifications in Barre, Cycling, Body Pump or Pilates preferred.
- Degree in Recreation, Exercise Physiology or a related field preferred.
Other Qualifications
Typical Hiring Pay Range: $23.00 - $27.50 per hour.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Primary shifts for this position generally include early morning, daytime, and evening shifts. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability, and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
