Position Summary 

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Center for Pollinator Conservation is responsible for communicating monarch and pollinator conservation information to internal and external audiences.

Schedule 

September 1, 2025 - October 31, 2025

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

This project will provide the intern with an opportunity to analyze, modify and identify communication products and tools for the Center to engage targeted audiences that will advance the agency's monarch and pollinator conservation efforts. This project will heavily rely on updating and developing communication products that meet federal accessibility regulations under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

 

Marginal Duties 

 

Required Qualifications 

Rising college senior or master's candidates are eligible. Academic major preference would include: Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Community Outreach/Engagement, Environmental Interpretation, Human Dimensions, Anthropology, Conservation Biology, or Natural Resource Management.

 

This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

A competitive intern will possess proficient skills in communication, both oral and written; demonstrate good problem-solving skills; solid knowledge in using Microsoft Office software programs; have an interest or basic understanding of creating and editing documents to meet accessibility requirements from the Revised 508 Standards; and interest in or passion about pollinator conservation. Strong candidates will be self-motivated, a team player, possess strong communication skills, and have an interest or basic understanding of conservation or natural resources.

 

Hours 

40 hours per week

 

Living Accommodations 

No housing provided

 

Compensation  

1 Senior Member: $380 per week living allowance (20hrs per week);

 

All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
