The HR & Risk Management Coordinator is a dual-function role responsible for supporting core human resource operations while implementing and maintaining the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. This position supports our human resource department ensuring compliance and employee service across areas such as onboarding, benefits, and recruitment. This role is additionally responsible for overseeing and managing the renewal process of all insurance policies across the organization. This includes ensuring timely renewals and maintaining continuous coverage for all properties and lines of insurance, such as property, liability, and other applicable risk areas. The role requires coordination with brokers, underwriters, and internal stakeholders to gather required documentation, review coverage options, and ensure compliance with organizational risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Coordination (80%)
- Assist in recruitment processes including job posting budgets, background checks, and candidate tracking and communication.
- Oversee employee onboarding process including I-9 processing, Paylocity onboarding, orientation tracking, and new hire communications.
- Support benefits administration by enrolling employees in benefit platforms and tracking 401(k) participation.
- Coordinate compliance efforts such as tracking mandatory training and acknowledgment forms.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR systems (e.g., Paylocity, Employee Navigator), policies, onboarding, and benefits.
- Assist with processing employee performance reviews, including documentation review and proper digital filing.
- Assist with planning employee engagement events and communicate HR updates across departments.
- Perform weekly and monthly audit of systems, policies and enrollments.
- Provide administrative support to HR including but not limited to document preparation, data entry, and file organization.
- Any additional tasks needed assigned by leadership.
Risk Management & Insurance Coordination (20%)
- Coordinate and track insurance policies (e.g., liability, property, auto), including policy renewals, bidding processes, and claim management.
- Implement and monitor the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program, ensuring all enterprise-wide risks are identified, assessed, and managed appropriately.
- Prepare and present monthly and quarterly risk reports and risk assessment summaries for senior management.
- Conduct annual and ad-hoc risk assessments on business operations and new services.
- Manage new property risk set up including bidding, researching and recommending policies and appropriate coverage.
- Ensure timely processing of policy invoices and premium payments in coordination with Finance.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for insurance and enterprise risk compliance audits.
- Facilitate the intake, documentation, investigation and resolution of insurance claims.
- Any additional tasks needed assigned by leadership.
Requirements
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of HR best practices and risk control methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong customer service orientation and collaborative mindset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and HRIS platforms (e.g., Paylocity) preferred.
- Comfortable working independently and as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking to uncover improvement opportunities and embraces change over routine methods.
Education and Experience
Required:
- Associate’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Risk Management, or Human Resources.
- 2 years of experience in HR coordination, payroll, or risk administration.
- Experience with ERM frameworks, model risk, or vendor risk evaluation.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
