Major aspects of responsibilities include development, coordination and implementation of the entire Mental Health program. Supervises three (3) Social Workers, (1) Social Services Counselor, and one (1) Administrative Coordinator 4. Incumbent require to have either possession of Licensure as a Certified Social Worker (CSW), Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Position Duties
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) plus:
A master's degree in social work followed by four years of social services experience.

Job Duties:
Performs highly complex, specialized casework or group work employing advanced interaction adjustment techniques and/ or the use of various or differential therapeutic techniques.
Provide individual and group therapy in compliance with established treatment plans.
Acts as advocate for offenders with outside agencies when necessary.
Screens and assesses all new offenders for appropriate treatment planning and referral.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or Promotion of a permanent, classified Louisiana State EMPLOYEE
- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
This position has a Special Entrance Rate of $26.95 per hour.
There is Premium Pay for this position: A rate between $2.00 and $5.00 an hour for each regular hour worked, based on years of service with DOC, in addition to regular pay.
Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and NOT the amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
