Job Type: Part-Time] 
Reports to: Facility Administrator or Designee

Position Summary

Are you calm under pressure, service-oriented, and looking to make a difference in a senior living community? We’re seeking a dependable and proactive Emergency Assistant to provide safety, emergency response, and support services to our residents, visitors, and staff. This is a vital role in ensuring the comfort and security of our community.


What You’ll Do

Emergency & Security Response

  • Serve as the first responder to emergencies involving residents, staff, or the facility.

  • Notify appropriate personnel such as Administrator on Call or Maintenance on Call per procedures.

  • Maintain accurate logs of all emergency events, incidents, and nightly activities.

Front Desk & Visitor Services

  • Greet and assist all visitors and family members at the reception/security desk.

  • Ensure all visitors sign in and comply with facility policies.

  • Answer phones and direct calls or take messages in a courteous, professional manner.

Facility & Grounds Support

  • Conduct regular security checks and ensure buildings are locked per protocol.

  • Provide general office support including mail distribution and light administrative tasks.

  • Support the team with any other duties needed to maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college course work preferred.
  • Six months experience working with the public and/or customer services.
  • The ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Experience in a retirement community preferred.
  • Current CPR and/or First Aid will be required.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds; to bend, stoop and twist.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

 

Working Conditions

  • Normal long-term geriatric health care residence and health care environments.
