The student in this role would serve as a front desk attendant at the Miller Center for approximately 10 hrs/week. Primary responsibilities include basic administrative duties such as answering the phone, greeting visitors, and directing them to events, signing for packages, leading occasional tours of the building, and providing additional administrative assistance when requested. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and an interest in history or politics is preferred. The successful applicant will be able to work independently, have a positive attitude, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. This position will pay $15.00 /hour. The dates of this position are August 26, 2025, to May 08, 2026.
This position is open to Work-study eligible students for the fall semester.
The Miller Center is a national, nonpartisan institute that seeks to expand understanding of the presidency, policy, and political history, providing critical insights for the nation’s governance challenges. Our scholars engage in research and writing that provides unparalleled insight into contemporary public policy debates. We are the sole source in the country of the oral histories of each presidential administration since Jimmy Carter's, and the annotated transcripts of the secret White House recordings made by Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
