Position: Repair Specialist, Osprey
Department: Product – Warranty and Repair
Work Location: Cortez, CO, 100% Onsite
What you will be doing:
As an associate of the Warranty & Repair (W&R) team, the Repair Specialist evaluates and conducts repairs of worn, damaged, and defective products under the All Mighty Guarantee (AMG) warranty. Product is repaired to a condition that meets all quality, functional, and cosmetic standards. Skillsets such as repair technique, aptitude, and productivity are expected to continuously develop with time.
Repair and processing information is to be regularly and accurately entered into the Business Central (aka NAV) ERP system. This position participates in other department activities including Repair Prep, goal work, and special projects as coordinated with the Warranty Repair Manager (WRM).
Obtain product from queue of repair pack racks, assess issues and develop repair strategy.
Conduct repair using sewing machines, heat patches, seam rippers, bar-tacker, long-arm, zigzag, walking foot, and other machines and repair methods, as appropriate.
Seek repair advice from fellow Sr. Repair Specialist or most senior team members available when necessary.
Assist repair team with intake and processing of customer packs, as requested.
Develop and provide feedback to Warranty Repair Management on process and efficiency improvement.
Participate in team meetings and support department objectives.
Update the ERP system with appropriate repair information and notations.
Employ effective use of MS Office applications and MS Teams to communicate with other departments and team members.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation and work area.
Conduct routine machine maintenance to specification outlined by management.
Provide information to PLM team about commonly repaired packs as well as feedback around potential repair areas for products in development.
Minimum Qualifications:
HS Diploma, or GED.
Ability to conduct backpack disassembly and assembly, understand mechanical and ergonomic function of backpacks.
Prior experience operating a sewing machine.
Basic computer proficiency includes experience with (or ability to learn) MS Word and Outlook.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
College-level coursework or degree.
Prior experience in product repair, industrial machine operation, or trades requiring the use of tools.
In Colorado, the standard base pay range for this role is $16.00 - $25.00 hourly. This base pay range is specific to Colorado and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
