Childcare Lead Teacher

LIFESPAN is hiring experienced, compassionate, creative, hardworking, friendly, and reliable Lead Teachers to support children with developmental delays and typically developing children from six weeks of age until they start kindergarten in a blended, inclusive environment.
Rate of pay starts at $13 per hour and is based on education and experience
Schedule: M-F 8:30-5:00
No previous experience in behavioral health services? No problem! We'll provide you the training you need.

As a Teacher in an Early Learning Center, you will develop individual goals for the students and plan and implement activities to assist them with reaching those goals. What you’ll do:
- Utilize the teaching strategies and center curriculum
- Develop individual goals for students
- Utilize goals to plan and implement activities
- Conduct and attend IEP or IFSP meetings as required
- Perform various routine procedures such as positioning, diapering and feeding
- Conduct home visits as needed
- Support inclusion and integration.
- Mentor children to help build social skills and relationships.
- Complete initial and ongoing training, and participate in staff development activities.
- Aid Teacher Assistants with accountability
- In addition, you may be required to:
- Administer medications. Training is provided.
Qualifications
What you need:
- Pass criminal record and healthcare registry check
- Pass driving record check if providing transportation
- Pass Drug Screen
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One-year experience in a child care setting or working with special education students preferred
- Obtained North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials (taken EDU 119 prior to employment)
- Commitment to achieve competency in required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Note: Current First Aid/CPR blended or classroom certification is required. If you do not currently have certification from an approved provider, our American Red Cross certified instructors will provide you the training.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently (per policy)
