Description
The Assistant Teacher works with a team to promote the care and supervision of a preschool group, meeting curricular goals and supporting the social, physical, and intellectual development of the children they serve. Reports to the Head Teacher and Director.
Full-time position. Monday through Friday. 37.5 hours per week.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Follows state licensing regulations.
- Promotes the safety and health of children under their supervision.
- Plans and implements appropriate classroom activities.
- Assist children in development of social and self-help skills.
- Facilitates a safe and healthy classroom environment. Assure that classroom equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
- Supports the Head Teacher in completing documentation.
- Maintains student portfolios and records.
- Participates in scheduled conferences and meetings as directed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- CDA or 12 ECE credits minimum
- Preferred Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- At least one year working with preschool aged children.
- Physical exam, TB test, background checks, and fingerprinting.
- Attends First Aid, CPR, and mandatory training workshops.
- Ability to perform physical activities needed in the daily care of children.
- Must be at least 18 years old - Bilingual a plus.
- Computer literate and comfortable with acquiring new technology skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
