PURPOSE:
- Intentionally breaking or stressing welds to evaluate their mechanical properties
- Crucial role in ensuring the strength and reliability of welded joints
- Providing feedback and document findings to improve internal performance
- Preventing failures in critical applications and finished products
- Conducts visual audits and inspections as required
- Knowledge of metal works and processes
- To perform scheduled destructive weld inspection in accordance with specified frequencies
- To record test results on provided control cards and/or inspection reports
- Maintain open communication and proper feedback information to the respective personnel
- Maintain performance of all equipment assigned to the area
- Responsible for attaining all weld destruct samples
- Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner
- Perform other related duties as required
- Safety protocols and proper use of protective gear
- Fire prevention and ventilation
- Familiarity with different metals and their reactions to welding processes
- Grade 12 education, GED, or equivalent and work experience
- A working knowledge both written and verbal of English and Mathematics
- Good computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience of SPC charting and interpreting
- Comprehensive knowledge of various measuring equipment and tools
- Must be physically capable of performing teardown duties
- Must be proficient in the operation of all designated tools and equipment
- Problem solving skills capability to troubleshoot welding defects and suggest improvements
- Precision and Attention to detail and ability to detect flaws and inconsistency in welds
- Work is generally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

- Schedule: Part time and shift work as required
