Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to end users using Radiology software and other PC products to ensure end users are able to meet their business requirements in a timely
- Identifies and troubleshoots IS (Synapse, VuePacs, Epic, Magview, Penlung, Pacs Cube, etc) problems using and escalates unresolved problems to appropriate personnel to ensure that the overall quality of information services delivery is maintained at all times.
- Collect all mammography assessment sheets marked as requiring follow up. Obtaining prior studies for comparison. Ensure that reports get priority transcription, and fax to referring physician.
- Make sure films are available for patients sign/out tracking their travel, serve as main contact for scheduling pre-localization's, aspirations or surgery.
- Updates patient records to include but not limited to: entering information in PACs, and EMR.
- Manages image / exam uploading, and scanning proper documents. Conducts daily reviews to ensure prior imaging has been obtained and uploaded for upcoming appointments.
- Prepares CD’s, reports, corrects errors in radiology systems, merges accounts as necessary.
- As PACs Super User corrects patient records, works in coordination with I.S. providing support, information, and technical assistance as needed.
- Communicates professionally and effectively with patients, staff, Radiologists, Radiology Service Coordinator and members of the administrative team. Provides regular updates on breast imaging to Radiologists and other members of the imaging team as necessary.
- Cross cover Radiology Service Coordinator, Radiology Scheduler, Radiology Service Admin, and Navigators.
Qualifications
- High School diploma and three years related experience are required.
- Requires operating knowledge of Radiology.
- Position requires in depth knowledge of work performed by various clerical and specialty areas in order to provide guidance and the ability to troubleshoot.
- Medical terminology and knowledge of coding recommended as well as strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must have working knowledge of various programs used throughout the hospital.
