Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for accurately preparing and maintaining records in the areas of Accounts Receivable, Sales, Cost, and Inventory Reporting. This is a full-time exempt position. Hours of work are 7:45 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. with a 45-minute lunch break. Shifts may vary depending on business needs.
Reports to
Plant Controller
Essential Functions
· Responsible for month-end reconciliations and assists with month end closing.
· Reconciles sub-ledgers, accounts, and financial transactions to the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Investigate and resolve variances.
· Maintains various monthly and quarterly spreadsheets of financial and non-financial data to report to appropriate individuals.
· Prepares journal entries, accruals, and adjusts entries as needed
· Maintains fixed asset schedules and assists with depreciation entries
· Processes account receivable payments and reconciliation for Amazon and PayPal accounts
· Backups other AR responsibilities and AP when needed
· Prepares and maintains quarterly royalty report
· Prepares sales and gross margin reports by product line and reconciles to GL.
· Updates and revises costs as needed, considering changes in production processes, material costs and knowledge of BOMs
· Reviews and verifies the inventory valuation and reconciliation to perpetual inventory
· Assists in physical inventory and cycle count valuation processes
· Assists with audits by providing supporting documentation for audit inquiries
· Maximizes efficiency, organizes work processes and procedures, and automates processes through system improvements

Requirements
Qualifications, Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree required.
· 3+ years of experience in finance and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment is required.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
· Strong familiarity with accounting software.
Work Environment
This position is based in Sawyer, MI, and reports directly to the Plant Controller at the facility. This position operates in both a professional office and a warehouse/manufacturing environment. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Professional appearance and demeanor are required in the office setting.
Physical Demands
The individual in this position will spend several hours sitting or standing, using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. This individual may also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
Schedule and Availability
Unless other arrangements are made with the supervisor, the individual in this position will work full time, Monday – Friday 7:45AM – 4:30PM with a 45-minute lunch break.
