The Shelborne will introduces four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar- lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.


Job Summary: 

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, targeting, and securing new business opportunities, as well as managing and nurturing relationships with existing clients. This role involves the development and implementation of sales strategies to meet and exceed sales goals, maintaining a pipeline of potential business, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a seamless sales process. The Sales Manager will represent the company in the marketplace, engage in direct sales efforts, and support the overall growth objectives of the business.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Sales Strategy & Planning:
    1. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed sales targets for the property or department.
    2. Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and prospecting.
    3. Understand the competitive landscape and market trends to effectively position the company’s offerings and services.
    4. Collaborate with senior management to establish sales goals and align strategies with business objectives.
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
    1. Actively prospect and acquire new clients through cold calling, networking, industry events, and outreach to generate leads and drive sales.
    2. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring repeat business and customer loyalty.
    3. Meet with potential and current clients to understand their needs, pitch products or services, and customize proposals accordingly.
    4. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service, responding to inquiries, and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Sales Presentations & Negotiations:
    1. Conduct product/service presentations to prospective clients, highlighting features, benefits, and solutions that meet their needs.
    2. Create tailored proposals, negotiate terms and pricing, and close deals to achieve sales targets.
    3. Ensure smooth contract negotiations and manage the contract process to closure, ensuring that all details are accurate and in line with client expectations.
  • Pipeline Management & Reporting:
    1. Maintain a robust sales pipeline, tracking leads, prospects, and client interactions in the CRM system.
    2. Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular updates and forecasts to senior leadership.
    3. Ensure timely follow-up with clients and prospects, converting opportunities into confirmed sales.
    4. Analyze sales data and reports to identify trends, assess performance, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:
    1. Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other departments to align sales efforts with company-wide objectives.
    2. Work closely with the events, catering, and operations teams to ensure that client needs are met, and services are delivered according to agreed-upon specifications.
    3. Provide feedback to the marketing team on client preferences, competitive trends, and industry insights to enhance the company's marketing efforts.
  • Sales Targets & Budgeting:
    1. Set and achieve individual sales targets in line with the company’s revenue goals.
    2. Develop and manage budgets for the sales department and activities, ensuring effective use of resources to achieve maximum sales impact.
    3. Regularly assess and adjust sales strategies to ensure that budgets and targets are met or exceeded.
  • Customer Retention & Upselling:
    1. Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services to existing clients, maximizing revenue potential.
    2. Foster strong client relationships through consistent communication and high-quality customer service, ensuring long-term loyalty and repeat business.
    3. Actively seek feedback from clients post-sale to ensure their satisfaction and identify areas for service improvement.

 

Education and/or Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably within the hospitality, events, or related industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and generating new business.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong sales acumen with the ability to prospect, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess sales data and adjust strategies to meet targets.
  • Knowledge of market trends and competitive products or services in the industry.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel as required, including attending industry events, client meetings, and conferences.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around during client meetings or sales presentations for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of marketing materials, event equipment, or documents (up to 25 pounds).
