Bookkeeper – Plum Market Food Service – Eppley Airfield

About the Role:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily transactions, and supporting the administrative and accounting needs of Plum Market Food Service – Eppley Airfield. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and timeliness in support of both location operations and corporate reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of managing multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced airport environment.
What you will do:
- Record and reconcile daily sales, deposits, cash handling, and credit card transactions.
- Manage daily cash processes, including cash pickups, safe audits, and preparation of daily deposits.
- Prepare and submit accurate sales recap reports.
- Process invoices and purchase orders.
- Manage accounts payable, including invoice verification, entry, and payment scheduling.
- Track and manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing and payment follow-up.
- Maintain and organize accurate vendor records; assist in vendor communications and management.
- Support month-end closing procedures and provide necessary backup documentation.
- Maintain organized financial records and filing systems (paper and digital).
- Collaborate with airport management and support teams to ensure operational accuracy.
- Maintain confidential financial records in compliance with Plum Market policies and airport security protocols.
What you will bring:
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a retail, airport, or food service setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, reporting, and data entry required).
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor management.
- Experience with daily cash handling and deposit preparation.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently.
- Must be able to pass an airport background check and qualify for airport badging.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial and personnel data.
- Knowledge of inventory control, point-of-sale systems, and cost tracking is preferred.
