PURPOSE
Responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of plastic food-packaging products through regular auditing, testing, and data analysis. In addition to performing the same essential duties as Quality Auditor, this role coordinates warehouse recalls, manages system transactions to secure non-conforming products, and takes on additional quality-related projects with minimal oversight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned as directed by the Quality Supervisor or upper management.
- Quality Auditor Duties: Perform all essential responsibilities outlined in the Quality Auditor job description, ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Warehouse Audits & Recalls: Conduct warehouse audits and recalls, analyzing data to identify non-conforming products and making informed disposition decisions.
- System Transactions: Manage transactions in the product management system to lock down recalled or quarantined products and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Reporting & Audit Findings: Prepare comprehensive reports, including audit results and recall status updates
- Assist Workers: Support team members on the production floor to ensure adherence to quality assurance standards and proper job functions.
- Documentation Review: Examine logs, processing sheets, and specification sheets to confirm alignment with food safety and quality requirements.
- Assist Equipment Verification: Help confirm that equipment use and maintenance comply with operational and safety protocols.
- Statistical Process Control: Create and maintain SPC databases for monitoring and reporting of data.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Quality Supervisor or upper management to support continuous improvement of production quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a laboratory or auditor environment is preferred. SPC trained or quality experience a plus.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
- Reading and Comprehension: Capable of reading and understanding instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
- Document Interpretation: Reads and interprets safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions effectively.
- Writing and Reporting: Able to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Presentation & Response: Comfortable presenting information and responding to questions from managers, customers, and the public.
MATH ABILITY
- Basic Arithmetic: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Advanced Concepts: Capable of applying probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry to quality-control scenarios.
- Practical Application: Proficient in fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions for real-world manufacturing processes.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Email: Comfortable sending and receiving electronic correspondence.
- Data Entry: Proficient in entering audit data into SPC software and other relevant systems.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Access.
