Overview:

Kimley-Horn is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join our  Charlotte, NC office. We are looking for candidates with 8+ years of experience in research, analysis, strategy, and planning within the energy and zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sectors. You will be involved in a variety of impactful projects including the development of local and regional plans for EV charging infrastructure, hydrogen refueling stations, energy efficiency and conservation strategies, and infrastructure siting. This is an in-office/in-person role, offering you the opportunity to collaborate closely with our talented team.

Responsibilities:

Applicants should be able to demonstrate their experience with research, analysis, and preparing reports and presentations on clean energy and/or clean transportation for clients. Applicants should have experience with:

  • Define and execute the vision for our regional ZEV Practice, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation.
  • Supervise and lead large, complex ZEV projects, providing technical expertise and strategic oversight.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, positioning our firm as a trusted partner in the ZEV industry.
  • Drive business development efforts, leveraging industry connections to secure new opportunities and expand market presence.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Ensure project profitability, resource allocation, and seamless transitions of work to qualified staff.
  • Uphold integrity and sound business principles, driving operational excellence and long-term success.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in energy or Zero Emissions Vehicles (ZEV)
  • Deep commitment to delivering outstanding client service
  • Extensive knowledge of planning principles for clean energy and transportation
  • Proficiency in creating ESRI maps using publicly available datasets (e.g., Census) and conducting analysis
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Exceptional organizational abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Energetic, self-driven, and team-oriented
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work with various project managers
