Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quoting Engineer to join our team specializing in the design and fabrication of customized amusement products. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with sales, design, engineering, and project management to generate accurate, timely, and margin-protective quotes based on customer specifications and product customizations.
The ideal candidate understands both manufacturing processes and cost estimating and can translate customer needs into buildable and costed proposals.
Job Responsibilities:
Analyze customer inquiries, drawings, and specifications to determine feasibility and scope of work
Collaborate with Engineering to define custom modifications to standard models
Calculate material, labor, subcontract, and overhead costs for each custom job
Develop and deliver accurate quotes, estimates, and technical proposal documents and sales contracts
Maintain cost databases and pricing tools to ensure up-to-date and consistent quoting
Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and Project Management during pre-sale and handoff phases
Review historical job performance to refine future estimating logic and pricing accuracy
Identify scope gaps, risks, and special requirements for unusual customizations
Track and support change orders that impact original quotes during execution
Contribute to continuous improvement in the quoting process and margin performance

Knowledge/Experience Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
2+ years of experience in quoting, estimating, or technical sales support, ideally in fabrication, custom equipment, or amusement industry
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, fabrication drawings, and production timelines
Proficiency in Excel and estimating software; ERP or quoting platform experience is a plus
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, and technical specs
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Experience working with themed attractions, amusement rides, or customer entertainment equipment, preferred
Familiarity with CAD tools or ability to review engineering drawings in SolidWorks/AutoCAD, preferred
Knowledge of OSHA, ASTM, or amusement ride safety standards, preferred
Cost control r margin analysis experience, preferred
