Journeyman Support Equipment (Sign Shop)
Education/ Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Four years of directly related work experience in signage manufacturing facility, a metal fabrication shop or an apprentice program. Experience in welding is preferred. Must use a variety of tools required for precise measurements. Must have ability to read and comprehend drawings and schematics. Current skill level will be determined by formal testing. External journeyman-level hires will be hired at the top rate of the current Apprentice level pay. Demonstrated ability to perform the Journeyman work will qualify the new hire to move to the Journeyman level.
Summary: Performs sign manufacturing, sign installations, inspections, maintenance and repairs to various signs throughout the MARTA system. Provides maintenance for equipment used in the sign process. Responsible for the assembly of sign components. Operates large format printers as well as production software. Works with various materials including but not limited to, vinyl, banner, wood, metal, acrylic and pvc sheets. Troubleshoots and makes repairs to sign tools that include gasoline engines, hydraulic pumps, and electrical operating systems.
Must possess and maintain a current, valid State of Georgia issued CDL license (Class A) or current, valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver Learner’s (CDL) Permit (Class A). Individuals hired with a valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver Learner’s Permit, must obtain a valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) within three (3) weeks of their date of hire.
A minimum of two years driving experience. A maximum of one (1) moving violation, with a maximum of three (3) points on Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) within a 24 month period. No DUI violations allowed.

Education/ Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Five years of directly related work experience in specialized equipment repair. Candidate must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the small engine and specialized equipment repair field. Candidate must possess the skill and ability in using a variety of tools required in maintenance and repair to Track vehicles and equipment. Must have the ability to read and comprehend electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic system schematics and information contained in equipment service/parts manuals. Current skill level will be determined by formal testing. External journeyman-level hires will be hired at the top rate of the current Apprentice level pay. Demonstrated ability to perform the Journeyman work will qualify the new hire to move to the Journeyman level.
Summary: Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs to specialized vehicles and equipment. Performs preventive maintenance inspections for gas and diesel engines, specialized landscape equipment, cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, sand spreaders, floor scrubbers, vacuum machines, and other types of specialized equipment. Performs welding, fabrication, body repair, unit replacement and overhaul of equipment as required.
