We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will be skilled in various welding techniques and capable of reading blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate and repair metal structures. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Pay $20-30 an hour
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or flux-core welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
Set up welding machines and select appropriate welding methods based on project requirements.
Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components.
Inspect welds for strength, quality, and compliance with specifications.
Operate grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools as needed.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in safe, clean condition.
Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and company policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or welding certification preferred.
3+ years of welding experience in a fabrication or construction setting.
Proficient in at least one welding process (MIG, TIG, Stick).
Strong knowledge of welding safety practices and metalworking techniques.
Ability to work from blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions and environments.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
