This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Training Center in Indianapolis, Indiana and part-time employment. 

Scope: The Digital Training Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Heartland FPG training digital programs and assets. The Digital Training Specialist collaborates with Training Specialists, business partners, and subject matter experts to develop and deliver tailored video, graphics, and design resources for curriculum and training program offerings. The Digital Training Specialist will provide creative direction and insight into a range of programs and projects that affect how we grow our people and internal brand.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with the training team to determine design needs.
  • Develops custom training design assets, such as photos, videos, and graphics.
  • Supports in the development of training materials.
  • Assesses training design needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.
  • Analyzes existing and potential content, focusing on consistency in presentation and optimal design.
  • Provides administrative support with regards to learning & development operations, new hire orientation, in addition to meeting coordination, and plant operations.
  • Organizes and designs training procedure manuals and guides and course materials, such as handouts and visual materials.
  • Evaluates and revises training materials such as images, text, and videos.
  • Exhibits sound fiscal responsibility in the handling and sourcing of training courses, materials, equipment, etc.  
  • Creates e-learning content and assists in managing course assignments and completions in the Learning Management System, including training records required for SQF and other audits.
  • Manages design of web and digital content based on company needs and expectations.
  • Ensures that digital training materials are always functional and up to date.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • B.S./B.A. Degree or higher in graphic design or related field
  • Must have video shooting and editing experience
  • Must have experience in Adobe Creative Suite or similar video and image editing software
  • Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work extended hours while standing  
  • Must be skilled in use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience in conducting training, leading training courses, or designing training is preferred

Physical Demands:  

  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions  
  • Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend   
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records

       •  Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.

Physical Demands:
