Position: Room Service Attendant
Department: Food and Beverage
Job Summary: Ensures delivery and service of food and beverage items in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner resulting in maximum guest satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Ensures food and drink are delivered accurately and in a timely manner to guests.
- Sets up room service trays and tables to fill existing orders and in anticipation of incoming orders.
- Cleans and organizes staging area for team members.
- Retrieves checks from order takers, sets tables, picks up orders from the kitchen or bar and delivers to guest rooms.
- Makes sure order is accurate and requests are answered.
- Presents checks and obtains payment.
- Delivers payment/signed check to order taker for closing.
- Answers the telephone and takes orders from guests in absence of order taker.
- Maintains knowledge of menu items.
- Removes dirty dishes and barware to the kitchen.
- Delivers exceptional customer service in a courteous and friendly manner
- Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the standards, procedures, supplies, equipment, and techniques used for room service.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as well as Sol Casinos’ internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Computer proficiency with Micros Point-of-Sale system.
- Good organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skill in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Skill in providing exceptional guest service
- Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must either possess or obtain a valid food handler’s certificate and be ServSafe certified within three (3) months of employment.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
- Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid non-gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school or General Equivalency Diploma
- One (1) year of guest service experience in a hospitality environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
