Position:                   Room Service Attendant   

Department:            Food and Beverage

                                                    

Job Summary:        Ensures delivery and service of food and beverage items in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner resulting in maximum guest satisfaction.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

  1. Ensures food and drink are delivered accurately and in a timely manner to guests.
  2. Sets up room service trays and tables to fill existing orders and in anticipation of incoming orders. 
  3. Cleans and organizes staging area for team members.
  4. Retrieves checks from order takers, sets tables, picks up orders from the kitchen or bar and delivers to guest rooms.
  5. Makes sure order is accurate and requests are answered.
  6. Presents checks and obtains payment.
  7. Delivers payment/signed check to order taker for closing.
  8. Answers the telephone and takes orders from guests in absence of order taker.
  9. Maintains knowledge of menu items.
  10. Removes dirty dishes and barware to the kitchen.
  11. Delivers exceptional customer service in a courteous and friendly manner
  12. Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
  13. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of the standards, procedures, supplies, equipment, and techniques used for room service.
  2. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as well as Sol Casinos’ internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  3. Computer proficiency with Micros Point-of-Sale system.
  4. Good organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Skill in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships. 
  7. Skill in providing exceptional guest service
  8. Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must either possess or obtain a valid food handler’s certificate and be ServSafe certified within three (3) months of employment.
  2. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
  3. Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid non-gaming license.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. High school or General Equivalency Diploma
  2. One (1) year of guest service experience in a hospitality environment.
  3. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
