Job Title:  Spiritual Formation Administrative Assistant

 

Job Description:  The Spiritual Formation Team Administrative Assistant must be a confident, highly organized and a detail-oriented individual.  This position plays a vital role in coordinating the spiritual formation process, managing communications, and supporting church-related events and activities.   This position require spiritual maturity, administrative strength, flexibility, ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously, and a passion for serving others.


Job Classification:  Full-Time | Hourly | Non-Exempt

 

Reports to:  Spiritual Formation Pastor

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide administrative support for all groups, courses, and team initiatives
  • Assist pastors with funerals, weddings, and visitation arrangements
  • Address and process all benevolence requests
  • Manage baptismal supplies and coordinate follow-up (including certificates)
  • Schedule and manage baptism and prayer team volunteers
  • Maintain the Spiritual Formation Team calendar and shared email inbox
  • Facilitate communication between the Spiritual Formation Team, church staff, and members
  • Track and compile monthly metrics for all Spiritual Formation areas
  • Support the online campus and serve as the online chat host
  • Assist with mission projects logistics
  • Receive and route prayer requests appropriately
  • Maintain accuracy in Journey’s church database (baptisms, deaths, duplicates, etc.)
  • Handle membership changes and updates

  • Profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Actively pursuing personal spiritual growth and formation
  • Model the standards and expectations of a leader within Journey Christian Church
  • Must be an active member of Journey Christian Church

 

Experience:

  • High school diploma is required; college degree is encouraged
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with church database systems
  • Technologically adept and comfortable with online platforms
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
