About the role

Responsible for leading the end-to-end lifecycle of AI/ML initiatives including design, development, deployment, and operationalization of AI and machine learning solutions across the enterprise

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leadership: Drive the AI/ML vision aligned with the broader data and AI strategy. Identify high-impact AI/ML opportunities across business units and functions. Enable AI/ML adoption across the enterprise, fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation

  • AI/ML Portfolio Management: Oversee the AI/ML project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business priorities and showcasing measurable business value & ROI. Prioritize use cases based on feasibility, impact, and ethical considerations. Establish governance frameworks and operating model for model lifecycle management, including development, deployment, monitoring, and retraining

  • Technical Oversight: Lead design, solution architecture and model development by collaborating with  internal/external partners, including testing LLMs, AI Operations, versioning, and reproducibility. Implement end to end scalable AI applications and platforms. Ensure best practices and stay current with latest AI/ML advancements

  • Talent and Team Development: Build and lead a high performing AI/ML team by fostering continuous learning and development through mentoring, training, and coaching.

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Translate business problems into AI/ML solutions and communicate complex concepts to non-technical audience. Measure and communicate value to stakeholders. Support change Management and AI adoption across the enterprise through AI education.

  • Responsible AI: Oversee and implement AI practices by ensuring fairness, transparency and explainability. Establish model auditability and traceability standards. Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to manage regulatory risks.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field with minimum of 8-10 years of experience in AI/ML.

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in leading high performing teams, designing, building, and scaling AI/ML solutions.

  • Deep expertise in Machine Learning, AI, Statistical modeling, experimental design.

  • Deep understanding of modern AI/ML architecture, cloud platforms. AI technology platforms and AI/ML ops practices.

  • Strong expertise in deploying optimized performance tested scalable AI/ML solutions.

  • Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud platforms (preferably in Azure or Databricks).

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence at all levels.

  • Ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audience.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Leadership in deploying AI/ML applications in life insurance or voluntary benefits organizations.

The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):

per year

The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for commission. We understand that compensation is an important factor when considering a new opportunity, and we strive to provide a competitive salary within the market.
