Management Level:
P5The Staff Infrastructure Engineer is a professional with extensive experience responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing an organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves working with various technologies to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of infrastructure components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and updates on servers, networks, and other infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for infrastructure-related issues, diagnose problems, and implement solutions promptly.
• Implementation: Assist in deploying and configuring new infrastructure components, ensuring they meet business requirements and standards.
• Monitoring: Implement and manage monitoring tools to track the health and performance of the infrastructure and respond to alerts and incidents.
• Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline infrastructure management tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Security: Ensure that infrastructure components are secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration and support of infrastructure services.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Perform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice.
Other Responsibilities:
• Monitor and optimize WAN and internet performance to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with IT teams to support network-related needs and projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and managed service provider.
• Participate in strategic planning for network infrastructure and technology initiatives
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience. Computer Science or Computer Engineering Preferred.
Preferred Certification(s): Any relevant IT Certification.
Experience: 7+ years of relevant and practical experience.
Special Skills:
• Networking experience in an Enterprise environment including:
• Cisco and/or Cisco Meraki switch and wireless administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• WAN & Internet design and configurations for high availability and load balancing.
• Experience with network design and lifecycle.
• Advanced level understanding of other network technologies including DNS, DHCP, Load balancing, and cloud networking.
