Job Summary___________________________________________________________________
The Foreman is responsible for managing the personnel and manufacturing processes in a particular area of the organization.
Responsible for participating, supporting, and maintaining compliance to the Company’s quality, environmental and occupational health & safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities as defined by the Company.
Position responsibilities include direct communications with employees, customers, or representatives.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 3:00pm - 1:30am
Salary: $73,140.80 - $94,715.20
Duties and Responsibilities_______________________________________________________
- Able to plan a job from start to finish including selecting the most effective processes and subordinates to carry out the task.
- Has adequate understanding of the machinery their subordinates use in order to direct them in the best practices of using that equipment.
- Able to direct their subordinates in the correct process and safety techniques for each of the tasks they assign.
- Assigns tasks to department Leads driven by production needs.
- Able to manage their workload (e.g., scheduling overtime, requesting extra personnel).
- Able to use outside resources (e.g., sales people, educational tools, internet) to evaluate processes and make recommendations.
- Able to speak to their subordinates in a professional manner even if the employee is not acting in a professional manner.
- Able to evaluate their subordinates’ performance and explain the evaluation professionally.
- Responsible for driving employee training and development within their department utilizing management assigned objectives.
- Insures inventory of consumables, including tools, are maintained.
- Has the ability to complete a Purchase Request and submit to appropriate personnel.
- Possesses knowledge of the Shop Floor Manager/ERP to efficiently drive production and work knowledge of internal inventory control and planning software system.
- Drives and follows Environmental Health and Safety guidelines set by management.
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives.

This position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Skills- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, governmental bodies/boards and the general public.
Mathematical Skills- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and the Microsoft Office Suite of products. Knowledge of basic office equipment should include: Internet and email, copy and fax machines, postage meter and telephone.

Working Environment___________________________________________________________
The working environment is characterized as a shop setting. The temperature in the shop closely follows that of the outdoors. Outdoor tasks may be assigned. This position can expect to regularly come into contact with dirt, grease, and oil. An employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements____________________________________________
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements_________________________________________________________
Three-five year’s supervisory experience in a metal fabrication environment. Preferred.
