The Mortgage Compliance Assistant is responsible for providing compliance related support to the mortgage department by assisting with reporting and audit responses according to established workflow, procedures, and regulations.

 

 

The incumbent will: 

 

  • Process all Mortgage Denials and Withdraw request(s) in compliance with Reg B and Reg C.
  • Scrub HMDA for all Closed Loan Files, Denials, and Withdrawals in compliance with Reg B and Reg C.
  • Upload loan samples to Stonehill QC for monthly closed loan and prefunding audits.
  • Upload Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) report to Stonehill QC for servicing auidts. 
  • Prepare reporting for management including HMDA, and QC reports as needed.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly audits for all mortgage compliance regulations
  • Prepare  quarterly reports for Compliance Committee.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time and adhere to all mortgage and compliance procedures 
  • Responsible for being familiar with all compliance regulations and policies that are applicable to this position and follow and ensure compliance with these regulations and policies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum of one (1) years’ banking or financial services experience required 

 

  • Strong understanding of the c, and mortgage regulations as they relate to HMDA, Reg B, and Reg C, TRID, RESPA, REG X, FACTA, HOEPA, Truth in Lending, SCRA, Reg Z, Fair Lending, and Flood
  • Administrative experience; financial services environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to quickly understand and communicate concepts both verbally and in written form.
  • Excellent accounting knowledge (college coursework or equivalent work experience) as applied to construction loan underwriting and mortgage compliance.
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

 

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

 

The physical requirements and environmental conditions of this position consist primarily of:

 

  • Sustained standing and sitting
  • Frequent use of PC, including typing or sustained attention to monitor 
  • Occasional presentations requiring public speaking to small groups
  • Occasional lifting of basic office files or equipment up to 20 lbs
  • Normal office environment with comfortable internal temperatures and low level noise
  • Some travel necessary for client/prospect meetings and networking events
