About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance operations at our new state-of-the-art dairy manufacturing facility in Hugoton, Kansas. This role is critical to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our plant operations. You will oversee all aspects of maintenance, including equipment repair, preventative maintenance, inventory control, and team leadership, while driving continuous improvement and supporting production goals. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a strong background in dairy manufacturing, technical expertise, and a passion for operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Leadership & Supervision: Directly supervise maintenance technicians and ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop, implement, and manage a robust preventative maintenance (PM) program using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical, electrical, and utility systems to minimize downtime and support production continuity.
- Inventory & Cost Control: Manage spare parts inventory, stockroom organization, and maintenance budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Scheduling & Planning: Organize and prioritize maintenance work orders, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to production.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement plant improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, process efficiency, and yield optimization.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies. Promote World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
- Flexibility: Available on work days, off-shifts, and weekends as needed to support plant operations.
About You
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Dairy industry experience requires a strong understanding of dairy processing equipment and sanitation standards.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS platforms.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive results.
- Legal Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
