Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and condition against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Store inventory and requisition ingredients, packages and miscellaneous supplies.
- Record and document received goods in inventory management systems promptly and accurately.
- Segregate and resolve contamination issues.
- Organize and store received items in designated areas following company procedures and safety guidelines.
- Sign off on and enter all parts, equipment, ingredients, packages and supplies into computer.
- Communicate with all departments of plant.
- Must be qualified to operate a forklift truck. Requires certification at our site..
- Understands and follows all Safety processes.
- May load all non products that shipping department does not handle.
- Ability to complete work orders assigned.
- Responsible for participating in all activities set out by the company in support of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
- Verify all incoming loads meet the company GMP standards.
- Everyone has responsibility to support and follow our Food Safety and Food Defense programs.
- Perform any and all tests as needed on incoming materials.
- Sweep and clean work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse clerk role.
- Good computer skills, including familiarity with inventory software.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds safely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills in English to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older and work/stand up to a maximum of 12 hours per day
- Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours without a break
- Bend to grasp objects and climb ladders
- Bend and lift loads not to exceed 50 pounds unassisted or 100 pounds with assistance.
Work Environment:
- Work in very hot temperatures (>90 degrees F) seasonally
- Pace is determined by the speed of equipment or machinery
- Ability to work in a noisy environment with the possibility of being exposed to flour, gluten, eggs and wheat via inhalant or food handling
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Must be able to work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete
- Maintain a clean & safe work area as well as maintain all Food Plant GMP's at all times.
- Any other associated tasks as seen necessary by managerial personnel
Intellectual Requirements:
- Active learning/listening, writing, reading and mathematics
- Ability to read work orders, instructions, or processing charts
- Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of equipment
