As an onshore Underwriter on our Healthcare, US team you work closely with the Healthcare Practice Leader and underwrite business across all U.S. territories. You’ll bring strong expertise in underwriting healthcare products and will play a key role in developing and growing new business opportunities and building strong broker relationships to drive profitable Healthcare business.
You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across CFC USA and the Healthcare underwriting team in London to deepen your understanding of the Healthcare insurance market, CFC’s distribution strategy, and cross-sell initiatives. A key part of your role will involve maintaining strong relationships with existing brokers and developing new partnerships across the U.S. to drive new business.
About the role
- Underwrite new and renewal Healthcare business across the U.S., focusing on long-term profitability.
- Respond to broker enquiries efficiently, including quote requests, coverage questions, and administrative needs, while delivering service within agreed SLAs and underwriting authority.
- Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, including targeted growth of key brokers and managing new business and retention targets.
- Drive business development by meeting new brokers and clients, promoting product awareness, supporting launches, and traveling to key U.S. regions.
- Maintain and produce regular underwriting reports around the portfolio as required;
- Explain the features, advantages and benefits of Healthcare insurance products including eHealth; explaining coverage enhancements; and supporting product launches to raise awareness of new and existing products;
- Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations on CFC products, key trends and emerging exposures;
- Represent CFC at internal and external industry events, including potential speaking engagements
- Research with a mind to develop subject matter expertise in Healthcare classes and investigate relevant legislation/regulation/compliance issues within our target territories;

- Collaborative team player with a passion for healthcare insurance
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a healthcare underwriting or production-focused role, with a proven track record of delivering profitable results.
- Well-established relationships within the U.S. insurance market, spanning brokerages of various sizes and across multiple regions.
- Strong cross-line knowledge, including a solid understanding of related insurance products such as professional liability and technology errors & omissions (E&O), enabling a holistic approach to underwriting and client solutions.
