Location: Photronics’ Corporate Headquarters – Brookfield, CT (US). This is an on-site position and we are not open to remote candidates at this time.
Position Summary:
The Senior HR Operations Specialist plays a critical role in the smooth execution of HR processes and systems. This position has a strong emphasis on payroll, HRIS implementation and management, benefits administration, and HR reporting. The specialist will oversee day-to-day HR operations including employee data management, payroll compliance, system audits, and reporting accuracy. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and committed to delivering efficient, high-quality HR services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage biweekly multistate payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Maintain and communicate payroll calendars
- Conduct payroll audits and reconcile time and attendance exceptions
- Oversee year-end payroll activities, including W-2s, PTO accruals, merit increases, bonuses, equity payouts, and service awards
- Reconcile payroll data with the general ledger and support tax reporting and financial close activities
- Support the implementation, administration, and optimization of the new HRIS platform
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
- Ensure data integrity through routine audits and reporting
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws and reporting requirements
- Coordinate and file required reports related to workers’ compensation, unemployment, and benefits
- Maintain accurate filings related to 401(k) and other benefits programs
- Support administration of employee benefits, including medical, dental, 401(k), and leave of absence programs
- Manage leave of absence cases (FMLA, STD, LTD, etc.) in coordination with third-party providers
- Serve as a resource for employees on benefit-related questions
- Provide support for employee stock purchase plans and equity award processing
- Provide workforce metrics and analytics to HR leadership and business partners
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 5+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on multi-state payroll and HRIS
- Demonstrated experience implementing or managing HRIS platform, preferred
- Experience with ADP Workforce now is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HR processes, employment laws and HR compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel.
Key Competencies:
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, Darwinbox, Deel, Hibob, SAP, etc)
- Focused interest on process efficiency and compliance
- Global mindset and ability to work with cross-functional, multicultural teams
- Experience establishing or supporting an HR Operations Center of Excellence or shared services model is a plus
