Summary: The Senior Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales operations within a remote territory, managing relationships with key accounts, and leading a team of sales representatives. This position focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market presence, and ensuring the execution of company sales and distribution strategies. The Senior Area Sales Manager will work closely with suppliers, brand managers, and internal teams (including the Operations Manager) to drive business growth while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Account & Territory Management:
- Manage a portfolio of accounts within the assigned region, ensuring consistent service and business growth.
- Conduct regular sales visits, assess account needs, and provide recommendations for product placements and promotions.
- Maintain and grow existing customer accounts by providing product knowledge, promotional support, and regular account visits.
- Work with marketing and suppliers to execute promotional activities and merchandising programs.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales objectives.
- Provide training and guidance on sales techniques, product knowledge, and company policies.
Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Analyze sales performance data and provide reports to senior management.
- Develop and adjust sales strategies based on market conditions and company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Additional Job Duties:
- Assures supplier and company quality assurance standards and procedures are strictly followed. This includes conducting monthly quality audits per LDF Sales & Distributing, Inc. standards.
- Oversees execution of monthly sales plan. This includes net sales, promotions, merchandising, quality and incentive targets. Needs to achieve specific targets for product distribution for both seasonal and core products
- All other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Requires 2-3 years beverage knowledge and sales experience, and at least 2 years of sales management with a proven track record in sales achievement and leadership. Upholds and leads the LDF TRUE values.
Education/Experience: Prefer college graduate with degree emphasis in marketing or equivalent experience, plus additional professional sales training programs.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid drivers’ license
Work Environment: Normal office environment, customer accounts and travel between accounts
