About the Department

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Grounds Maintenance Worker I. This position is a Part Time, 20-hour per week role. The Grounds Maintenance Worker I reports to the Parks Field Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:  

• Performs turf maintenance cultural practices utilizing motorized equipment.
• Performs mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, cultivation, fertilization, watering and pruning operations
• Performs general landscape and cleanup duties, including trash and debris removal, graffiti removal and litter pickup.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Six months previous experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation and manual labor.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
