About the Department
We are seeking a responsible, organized, and enthusiastic After School Care Director/Driver to oversee daily operations of a licensed school-age childcare program and transport participants from school to our recreation facility. This position plays a key role in providing a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children ages 5–12 in accordance with Colorado licensing rules and regulations.

Position Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the on-site Director for a licensed after school program in compliance with Colorado state child care licensing rules.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program.
- Transport participants from designated schools to the program facility using a district vehicle (15-passenger or smaller).
- Implement and lead daily schedules including enrichment, recreation, and group activities.
- Supervise and support program staff and volunteers.
- Maintain attendance records, daily health checks, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Build strong relationships with parents, school staff, and community partners.
- Manage snack service and ensure all dietary needs and allergies are accommodated.
- Conduct emergency drills and maintain a safe and clean program environment.
- Communicate regularly with the Licensed Programs Supervisor and adhere to district and licensing policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a clean driving record and the ability to operate district vehicles
Meet Director Qualifications as defined by Colorado Child Care Licensing (7.712.42), including:
- A minimum of 3 months (460 hours) of verified experience working directly with school-aged children
- At least 24 semester hours of documented college coursework in child development, education, or a related field, OR hold a valid Colorado Early Childhood Professional
Ability to pass required background checks, including fingerprints through CBI/FBI and Trails.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a licensed child care setting.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Other Qualifications
The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including summer and winter sun and temperatures. Work will be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Drivers are responsible for transporting children in a timely manner, which often includes exposure to traffic, weather conditions, road construction and the potential for stressful situations with passengers or traffic
