Job Summary: Develops and manages documentation solutions to meet business needs.
Essential functions and process responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
- Prepares and edits complex business support documentation, including process flowcharts, SOPs, templates and forms, functional specs, and methodologies
- Identifies existing internal controls and gaps; provides recommendations on best practices for minimizing risk; provides guidance and identifies resources to improve existing processes and automation opportunities
- Researches, understands, and incorporates regulatory requirements into documentation to ensure compliance within the organization
- Expert knowledge and experience with best practices regarding documentation management, manages documentation life cycles by proactively ensuring periodic reviews and approvals, and creates and maintains documentation library structure
- Guides internal users through the documentation technologies and develops new types of documentation/templates- Manages documentation life cycles by monitoring appropriate life cycles for each type of documentation, advising system owners about documentation requirements, archiving documentation, and ensuring it is updated as needed
- Manages documentation according to document control procedures, including SOPs, methodologies, and templates
- Prepares complex system user documentation for new systems as needed
- Develops new types of documentation / templates
Experience and Education Preferred
- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
- 7+ years of experience
- Experience with HTML or any web site or content-management tool
- Expert analytical skills; advanced ability to quickly understand complex business processes
- Advanced influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization and influence senior-level management
- Self-directed, motivated, able to independently accomplish results, and work effectively and efficiently with little supervision
- Expert PC skills (MS Office, Visio or Lucid, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
