About the Department
Come join the Issaquah Parks & Community Services Basketball Referee team this Fall/Winter! Referees are needed to help lead, encourage, and instruct our participants in the beautiful game of basketball. This position performs officiating and score-keeping duties for basketball games for K-12th grade. This is a recreational league focused on teaching basketball fundamentals and encouraging the love of the game. The chosen candidates will work primarily on Saturdays, with the season running from early November 2025 to late March 2026. Experience in basketball and/or officiating is preferred, but not required! All rules and regulations will be taught in referee training before the start of the league, with continual training throughout the season.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 14 years old.
- Must be able to pass a background check to work with children.
Other Qualifications
- Ability to assist in instructional tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work weekends or other irregular hours as necessary.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and the public.
- CPR and AED Certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with basketball, particularly for those working with older youths.
- Prefer applicants with enthusiasm for sports and working with youth.
