About the Department

The City of Issaquah has a great opportunity to join a dynamic team as a part-time Facility Supervisor!  This person will supervise the programs in the Community Center and be responsible for opening, closing, and ensuring proper procedures are followed.  If you are responsible, friendly, conscientious, self-motivated, and excited by the idea of wearing sweats and sneakers to work, this is a great opportunity for you!

Position Duties

  • Ensure proper program procedures are followed, both about safety and program guidelines.
  • Open and close the facility and supervise the site throughout the work shift.
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs as required for various programming.
  • Set up and take down volleyball nets as required.
  • Ensure facility and grounds are kept neat, clean, and litter-free.  Perform basic custodial and light maintenance duties.
  • Provide information to the public concerning recreation programs, policies, regulations, and schedules.
  • Provide routine First Aid in case of minor injury and administer CPR as needed.
  • Communicate in writing with the supervisor and team.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
  • Interest in community recreation and/or education programs preferred.
  • Certifications in CPR/AED, or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Must pass a criminal background check before hire.
  • A combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills & abilities to perform the job will be considered.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, courtesy, and respect.
  • General rules, regulations, practices, and terminology of the Issaquah Parks & Community Services Department.
  • Maintenance requirements and expectations of the Community Center and grounds.


 SKILL IN:

  • Analyzing situations quickly and adopting an effective course of action.
  • Communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Reading, interpreting, applying, and explaining rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements, and restrictions.

ABILITY TO:

  • Establish rapport and maintain cooperative working relationships with patrons and fellow staff.
