Jillamy Packaging and Warehousing, is looking for a Assistant Operations Manager to oversee, inspire, and drive the success of our warehousing operations. In this high-impact, hands-on leadership role, you’ll manage warehouse staff, keep operations running smoothly, and ensure every shipment, process, and policy is executed with precision and purpose.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise warehouse employees, contractors, and temporary staff—ensuring daily tasks and labor are allocated efficiently.
- Showcases superior customer service to build internal and external relationships. Provides support to Customer Service Reps and engages with external customers.
- Works collaboratively with Sales, Operations and Administration to streamline processes and feasibility of implementation while also evaluating project margin potential.
- Provides support and coaching to leverage efficiencies with labor allocation, inventory planning, equipment reliability and quality requirements while providing safe workplace compliance.
- Supports Operations Manager in robust Quality Management processes and responses as well as location certifications.
- Supports development, implementation and management of equipment reliability and preventative maintenance initiatives.
- Provides support to Operations Manager related to billing, invoicing, labor allocation and Human Resources initiatives to streamline processes.
- Supervise salaried employees and develop their leadership skills.
- Oversee daily order processing, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling.
- Oversee the recording and maintain warehouse data including labor, quality, time tracking, and safety reports.
- Train and develop team members on equipment, safety, and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, internal policies, and customer specifications.
- Oversee the verification of outgoing orders and incoming shipments; schedule daily shipments and support logistics planning.
- Monitor performance against shop rates and job specs—driving process improvements where necessary.
- Identify and resolve operational issues in real time with professionalism and poise.
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work environment.
- Promote continuous improvement across all areas of warehouse operations.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or contract packaging environment.
- Minimum 3 years of operations, customer service or customer relations experience required.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Previous forklift experience required. Must hold or be willing to obtain a valid forklift license, with the ability to train others.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance.
- Comfortable working under tight time constraints in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required with internal and external stakeholders. Must respond well to questions and have ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and warehouse technology systems.
- Strong attention to detail—particularly in documentation, data accuracy, and compliance.
- Professional presence with ability to lead and maintain a calm, composed demeanor.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and across different shifts, based on business needs.
- Willingness to operate across various locations if required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
