Role Summary

The Continuous Improvement Coordinator is responsible for driving process improvements across manufacturing, equipment, layouts, material handling, and supporting production, quality, and logistics functions. This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and performance through structured improvement initiatives, with an emphasis on reducing waste and increasing productivity.
Main Tasks
Lead and support initiatives targeting in-process defect reduction, scrap reduction, setup/changeover time reduction, productivity gains, and overall OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements
Coordinate activities related to new product development to ensure smooth transitions through gate approvals and into production
Develop, maintain, and manage continuous improvement processes, metrics, and supporting tools
Collaborate with the CI Manager and plant leadership to execute tactical planning for continuous improvement projects
Promote and standardize work procedures and production fundamentals across the organization
Organize and lead shop floor and business process Kaizen events to improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
Manage improvement projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, timeline adherence, and implementation of lasting solutions
Conduct value stream mapping and analysis to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies
Support Lean Production System training and initiatives across the plant
Assist with root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions for internal and external quality or safety concerns
Perform additional duties as assigned
Your Profile
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field – OR – a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience:
1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing process improvement or a related role
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal training and hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing (Toyota Production System preferred)
Proficiency with CAD tools
Experience with SAP
Knowledge of EVSM (Enterprise Value Stream Mapping)
Background in automotive manufacturing
