About the Role
We are building the future of air and ocean transportation! We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial and data-driven individual to drive our pricing strategy and lead our pricing operations team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building scalable processes enabled through technology that drive growth and customer acquisition by partnering with our sales, operations and product management teams.
This position will work in our office location at least 3 days per week.
What the Candidate Will Do
As the Senior Manager of Pricing, Air & Ocean, you will be instrumental in defining and executing our pricing strategy, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring our offerings drive significant value and growth. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Leadership & Program Development
- Define and continuously evolve the global pricing strategy and roadmap for Uber Freight's air and ocean products, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing pricing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and professional growth.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust pricing policies, guidelines, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency, profitability, and compliance across all air and ocean services.
- Drive the strategic development and implementation of pricing technology solutions, collaborating closely with Product Management to automate procurement costs, streamline pricing workflows, and enhance quoting efficiency.
- Pricing Operations & Execution
- Oversee and optimize daily pricing operations, ensuring timely and competitive fulfillment of both fixed and spot rates.
- Lead the end-to-end administration and strategic delivery of all customer RFQs for air and ocean freight.
- Analytics, Insights & Market Intelligence
- Establish, monitor, and analyze key pricing performance metrics (e.g., quote timeliness, conversion rates, win/loss ratios) to drive continuous improvement and inform strategic decisions.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and trend forecasting to identify new pricing opportunities and anticipate market shifts.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive, structured data repository for all procurement costs across air carriers, ocean carriers, agents, and other vendors.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner deeply with commercial teams to develop and implement customer-specific pricing strategies that maximize win rates and profitability.
- Cultivate robust feedback loops with commercial teams to identify market opportunities, refine pricing models, and accelerate customer acquisition.
- Support carrier and vendor negotiation strategies by providing critical market intelligence, cost analysis, and pricing insights.
- Serve as the primary pricing liaison to executive leadership, providing regular updates on market trends, pricing performance, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure pricing models align with profitability targets and financial planning.
- Compliance & Data Governance
- Ensure strict adherence and continuous compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies, including FMC regulations, and internal data governance standards for pricing integrity.
Travel
- Quarterly travel
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 2 years people management experience
- At least 5 years pricing operations experience
- At least 7 years freight forwarding experience
- Excellent analytical skills include advanced Excel skills
- Strong understanding of freight costing, pricing strategy and conversion
- Strong collaborator
- Ability to balance both tactical responsibilities while also driving various strategic initiatives at the same time
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in Supply Chain)
- At least 10 years freight forwarding experience
- Proficient in CargoWise
- Proficient using Tableau
- Proficient in SQL

Employees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and more. US based employees may also be eligible for a performance or sales incentive bonus program, participation in Uber Freight equity awards, and other types of compensation depending upon the role.
- California: The salary range for this role is $143,160 to $205,980 a year.
- Illinois: The salary range for this role is $119,300 to $171,650 a year.
