REQUIREMENTS:

• Must meet NYSED Fingerprinting requirements

• Must meet civil service requirements

• Bilingual preferred 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Effective communication skills

• Proficiency with computer based applications

• Knowledge of office procedures and clerical operations

• Knowledge of residency requirements as defined by New York State law

• Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

• Ability to analyze and organize complex data and prepare records and reports

• Ability to understand and interpret written material

• Ability to exercise personal discretion and sound judgment especially when dealing with the public

• Ability to prepare electronic data to interface with computers district wide

• Ability to work effectively with others

• Attention to detail, tact, and courtesy

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct interviews with new students and their parents or guardians

• Provide information to families and responds to inquiries regarding enrollment in the District

• Receive and review enrollment information and verifies residency, student medical records, birth certificate, transcripts, etc.

• Enter all enrollment information into the District’s database, maintains copies and files and refers materials to appropriate staff, medical records to the nurse, IEPs to student services, guidance, etc.

• Prepare information and enrollment packets and refers inquiries to the appropriate personnel and school buildings

• Contact previous school districts and/or agencies to obtain necessary information

• Follow up with students, parents, agencies, etc. as necessary to ensure the timely registration of new students

HOURS: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
