We are seeking a Supervisor of Campus Nursing to be a key leader in advancing this mission—bringing expertise, and leadership to the children in our care.
As Supervisor of Campus Nursing, you will play a vital leadership role in the delivery of high-quality healthcare to a pediatric population with complex emotional and behavioral needs. You will foster a compassionate, supportive environment for youth, families, and staff—while ensuring regulatory excellence, clinical collaboration, and staff development. This is an opportunity to lead with purpose, mentor with compassion, and advocate for young people who need it most.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Lead & Supervise: Oversee day-to-day operations of the health center. Assign duties, support performance, and foster a culture of accountability, empathy, and teamwork.
- Coach & Develop: Guide a team of nurses and health staff through onboarding, coaching, training, and performance reviews.
- Coordinate Care: Communicate with clinical staff, biological/foster families, and community providers to ensure seamless, holistic care.
- Support Clinical Excellence: Participate in daily rounds, case conferences, and team huddles; ensure high-quality nursing practices and compliance with medical protocols.
- Train & Educate: Provide training to clinical staff, direct care staff, and families on best practices, medication safety, and trauma-informed care.
- Ensure Compliance: Monitor medication administration, health records, and documentation practices to meet internal standards and external regulations.
- Engage in Care Delivery: Occasionally provide hands-on nursing support in alignment with care plans and agency policy..
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing or related field preferred
- Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license; BLS Certification required
- 5+ years of nursing experience with pediatric populations
- 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong people and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with very diverse groups of clients and staff
- Experience with trauma-informed care and youth with behavioral health needs strongly preferred
- Deep commitment to equity and understanding of the systemic factors affecting youth in care
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health systems
- Spanish language skills and a NYS driver’s license are pluses!
